The first mention of the HOTEL in Derby was in 1872 when it opened. There is some indication it was called the El Paso Roadhouse as well as the Derby Hotel. In 1884, Mother Nachtrieb was hired as the Manager of the “Central Hotel”. More of Mother Nachtrieb is here.

What I do know is it was for sale in 1900 under the name of “Central Hotel” as indicated in the clippings to the left.
